– PhD Harry Doornink has been working for 25 years in healthcare, including with a healthcare provider and a healthcare insurer, as well as organization adviser. Through his network, he got in touch with developments at the University of Twente, where text mining and algorithms are used for the exposure of psychological problems.

– Mr. Wim Fahrner has been active more than 25 years as entrepreneur and manager, including in technical and business services delivery, automatization and electronic payments. After selling his company, there was time and space to think about his motivations. During that period, he made contact with the University of Twente, where research was conducted on the easier recognition of psychological illnesses.
“I have always been intrigued by new possibilities to use other sciences, such as Mathematics or Informatics, to solve medical problems. Out of the box thinking always gets me very enthusiastic.”

– Eng. Arjan de Jong started his own ICT company immediately after his studies (Informatics with Saxion, and Chemistry with the Laboratory High School), together with some fellow students. In his work at the University of Twente, he got involved in the development of a method for the recognition of PTSS. This led to a cooperation, which in turn led to the development of the PTSS Screener.

– Ir. Arthur Frank studied technical business management at the University of Twente, and computer technique at the College of Enschede. In his work as advisor in logistics, and later in healthcare, he always was actively involved in connecting processes with technique.
E-HEALTH WILL SAVE SOCIETY LOTS OF TIME AND MONEY, BUT IT IS ESPECIALLY PERSONS WHO WILL BENEFIT.

The demand for mental healthcare in the Netherlands increases strongly, due to several social developments, such as insufficient budgets, political choices, and the greater influx in healthcare. Well-oriented technology will provide solace. Therefore, the time seems right for a stronger implementation of digital applications. The government as well as healthcare and insurers start looking in the same direction, and push for progress – also due to the call for change of the healthcare sector. Particularly in diagnostics, which lags behind in terms of application of new technology, change is coming. One of the most striking newcomers, without a doubt, is the PTSS Screener.
